Welcome to MSB 2027
May 30 – June 2, 2027 · Montepríncipe Campus, Madrid
Welcome to the 43rd International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis!
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 43rd International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis—MSB 2027—which will take place from May 30 to June 2, 2027, at the Montepríncipe Campus of Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid, Spain.
For the first time in its history, MSB will be held in Spain. We are delighted to bring this international community to Madrid and to create a dynamic forum where scientists from around the world can share their latest findings, explore emerging technologies, and discuss the future of microscale separations and bioanalysis.
The signature topic of MSB 2027 will be omics, highlighting the essential contribution of microextraction and microscale separation technologies to the generation of high-quality omics data. The scientific programme will address areas including microextraction techniques, capillary electrophoresis–mass spectrometry, micropillar array columns, nano-LC, and multi-nozzle arrays, together with the broad range of fundamental developments and innovative applications traditionally represented at MSB.
Following the successful format of previous editions, the symposium will feature short courses, plenary and keynote lectures, parallel scientific sessions, contributed oral presentations, poster sessions, and ample opportunities for discussion and networking. A substantial part of the programme will be built from submitted abstracts evaluated through a double-blind review process, ensuring that scientific quality and originality guide the selection of contributions. Particular attention will be given to the participation and visibility of early-career researchers through oral presentation opportunities, awards, and dedicated activities.
We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful scientific community. MSB 2027 will welcome participants from every discipline, career stage, geographical region, and personal background, providing an environment in which new ideas, open discussion, and lasting collaborations can flourish.
The symposium is being organized by researchers from the Centre of Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO) at Universidad CEU San Pablo. The Montepríncipe Campus offers excellent facilities for plenary lectures, parallel sessions, poster presentations, exhibitions, and informal scientific exchange. Its location provides convenient access to central Madrid by public transport, including the Metro Ligero network.
Madrid itself will be an important part of the MSB 2027 experience. Its exceptional cultural heritage, world-renowned museums, historic neighbourhoods, outstanding gastronomy, and pleasant late-spring atmosphere make it one of Europe’s leading destinations. A social programme—currently under development—will offer further opportunities to enjoy the city and strengthen connections across the MSB community.
We warmly invite you to join us in Madrid for four stimulating days of excellent science, lively discussion, new collaborations, and memorable experiences. Together, we look forward to advancing the frontiers of microscale separations and bioanalysis.
See you in Madrid!
